Given the client’s need for four-bedrooms, the home is perfectly sized.
“The 160 feet minimum depth of the lots in Miramonte provides the flexibility to customize our floor plans to accommodate the exact requirements of our clients,” said Diamond Custom Homes’ President Mike Diamond. “This particular client’s lot is 258 feet deep on one side. That allowed us to create a wing where we could include the fourth bedroom. Another Diamond custom build project in Miramonte was also designed by Stofft-Cooney. The design includes custom framing details and finishes specified by the client. The Diamond-built residence under construction in Torino provides a customized preview of the firm’s new great room floor plan that will be featured in its next Torino model. Designed by Stofft Cooney Architects, the customized version of the great room plan features 2,500 square feet under air with a covered entry, a large great room with two French doors leading outside, a gourmet kitchen with a very large sit-down island, three-bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, a covered lanai with retractable screens, an outdoor kitchen and a two-car garage. The home is being built on a lake-front lot. Unique hand-crafted wood beamed ceilings are included in the great room, master bedroom and kitchen. A custom vent hood was designed to accommodate the island cook-top in the kitchen. Diamond is framing a chase off the ceiling and through the roof before bringing the vent down to where it can be attached to the stainless steel Viking hood. The hood itself is being customized by a local metal fabricator to provide the four feet needed to extend the hood to a twelve-foot ceiling.
“The two French doors in the great room are part of what can best be described as a ‘door wall,'” said Diamond Custom Homes’ Vice President Jeff Benham. “The wall includes the two doors and an extremely large picture window that maximizes the impact of the lake view. Because the doors have to line up exactly with the window, the support framing has to be measured and custom built on-site. The end result will be all glass except for a bit of reveal below the window. Visitors to this home will be treated to a view that will draw them through the French doors to the outside. It will be a very compelling presentation.”
